Report by Claire Meaney continued:
The big day arrived as we headed to Páirc Uí Coimh. So did all our
supporters. There was chaos all around us as we thought it was the boys
who were playing first then we found out it was us so without delay we
got ready. The crowd roared and cheered as we came running onto the
pitch. I had the honour of being captain. The whistle blew and within 6
minutes I had scored 2 points. There was only a point in it at
half-time. Then Bishopstown
hit a powerful ball into the back of the net. Then Roisín and I hit
over a point each to make it level. Then with only 5 mins to go Ovens
scored a goal. The crowd were up cheering and roaring when the final
whistle blew and Ovens had won by 3 points. |
