first communion - 2010

Saturday May 8th was dry and cloudy much to the delight of the 41 children who received their First Holy Communion in Ovens church. The ceremony was performed by Fr. Sean, and each child had an individual contribution to the mass. Sincere thanks to Ms. Brennan and Ms. Coughlan for all their hard work and preparation of the children for receiving the Sacrament which was very evident on the day. Many thanks also to Ms. G O’Donovan for her musical contribution and choir, an added bonus to this beautiful event.     Roger O’Sullivan was on hand to record the ceremony and will have the DVD and pictures ready for dispersal before the summer break. Thanks also to all those who baked, prepared and served refreshments in the halla. It is really appreciated by all. Many compliments have been received from families both local and far away for your thoughtfulness in providing the much needed cup of tea!
