| Great
fun was had by all the 6th class boys and girls who competed
in the Action Song competition in Feis Maitiú on Thursday, February 8th.
A medley of songs from “High Street Musical” was performed by the 34
pupils in the class. This was a lively and modern choice of music and
song selected by the children themselves. Geraldine
Foley, Speech and Drama teacher in the school, worked in tandem with the
children in devising an exciting and energetic series of movement and
dance. This was combined with the tuneful singing of the children, the
musical accompaniment which was superbly adapted by Jack O’Rourke - a
past pupil of the school and the co-operation of parents and teachers in
the school in preparing a colourful and vibrant performance. They
were
awarded 2nd place. Their rendition of High School Musical impressed the judge and was
thoroughly enjoyed by all present. |
