| The next round was played in Éire
Óg in Ovens on Friday, Dec. 3rd.
There were 14 schools competing, some from as far away as
Castletownbere and Rosscarbery. Ovens
girls were in fine form and playing on home ground.
The girls played brilliantly and beat teams from ‘Star of the
Sea’ Passage, Banteer and
Castletownbere in great style. Then
we had a break as we had won our section and had to go on to play the
runners up of Group C in the semi-finals.
We came up against a very physically strong Liscarroll/Churchtown
team. The girls played their
hearts out but were up against it and were unlucky to lose. Canovee beat Liscarroll/Churchtown in the final and go
on to the County Finals. We
wish them luck. |
