| On
the 12th of December a man called Robert came to help us make
Holly Wreaths. First he gave us a piece of circular wire with hooks
at the end of it. Then we had to take about three pieces of palm
branches. After that we got a piece of twine to tie the wire and
bits of palm together .Then you had to hook both sides of the wire
together – it made a circle. We then put bits of holly with
berries onto it.. There was only one downfall-the holly was very,
very spiky!! It was brilliant fun and we kept the wreaths too To
make it look beautiful, we tied a ribbon to it. It was great fun.
Comments
from pupils who made wreaths include:
My wreath is
now hanging on the door. It was great fun doing these wreaths. Much
better to make your own than to buy them.
It is also possible to make the wreaths by using moss instead
of palm. “Pupils and teachers enjoyed this day immensely” “We
had a laugh…. Proudly I showed mine to the lads.” “The holly
on the wreaths hurt a lot…….everyone in my family loved the
wreath” .
